Introducing our School Board

Denise Jeffs - Principal

I was fortunate enough to be merit selected as the Principal of  Heathridge Primary School in 2017. I am so excited to lead the new School Board through our next three-year phase as we implement our new Business Plan 2018-2020. I am passionate about education and ensuring the mental health and well-being of my staff, students and families. I am committed to creating a learning environment that is innovative and engaging. I love to keep fit and challenging myself to events such as the City to Surf and other running events.  My family, my friends and my two dogs mean the world to me. I love travelling and want to see as much of this world as I can. I love my job and being part of creating the adults of the future.

Board Chair - Brad Williams

I'm a proud parent of Brandon in Year 1 and enthusiastic advocate of HPS. I've been a board member since 2017 and chair since March 2018. My work experience and education include 16 years of financial services in London covering IT project management, sales, and business development. I enjoy healthy living, outdoor activities and spending quality time with my family.

Justine Vallence - Parent

My name is Justine Vallence and I currently have two children at Heathridge Primary School. Mia is in Year 5 and Jaide in Year 3. My son, who is now in his final year of high school, also attended Heathridge Primary School from Pre Primary.

I have been a member of the P&C for many years and this year I have joined the School Board. I love being part of this small, but tight community and it is a pleasure to be involved in all aspects of helping out where I can.

Charmaine Dimanuel - Staff

I joined the School Board when I started working at Heathridge Primary School in Term One of 2017. I started as the Acting Associate Principal and am now the Program Coordinator of the Specialised Learning Program for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I’ve been welcomed into the HPS family and have loved supporting the students and families in this small ‘country-feel’ school. I like to spend my weekends with my two fur babies, my dogs, Boomer and Bailey, and spending time with family and friends. I’m looking forward to a big trip to Europe at the end of the year and I can’t wait!

Thaysa Ramos -Parent

I have been living in Heathridge for over three years now. My husband Rodrigo and I have two daughters enrolled in HPS. I enjoy attending and being involved with my daughters’ activities and sporting events, and treasure my family time, outdoors adventures and camping trips. I am also passionate about culture, diversity and the power of education. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from both Curtin University and Alagoas State University of Health Sciences and I am an Occupational Therapist currently working in mental health. I bring my culturally diverse background, leadership and programme management experience along with my passion for education to the board and I hope to make a positive impact on HPS for many years to come.

Sharyn Kay - Parent

I have been a parent representative on the school board for the last three years and was happy to be re-elected for the next three years. I have been a member of the P&C since enrolling my boys at this school 6 years ago and have taken on the treasurer’s role for the last 18 months. I enjoy being a parent helper and have been an R-Team volunteer for many years.

In 1993, I completed a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting and Finance at ECU. I have 3 boys, Thomas is in Year 7, Matthew is in Year 4 and Benjamin is in Year 3. I enjoy line dancing, rock and roll dancing and watching AFL at both junior and senior levels.  I love spending time with my family and especially enjoy going on day trips with them. We love to find a place where we can explore, relax and have a picnic or bbq lunch. In the summer months, I also enjoy canoeing or kayaking with the family. My favourite colour is purple and I love to listen to country music.

Mandi Crozier - Parent

I joined the board at the end of 2017. I have one child who is currently in Year 2 at Heathridge Primary School. I work part time as an Administration Officer, and I also volunteer in the R-Team program at the school.

Kara Metcalf - Staff

Emily Hamilton MLA Joondalup - Community Representative

As the local Member of Parliament for Joondalup it was a pleasure to accept a position with the Heathridge PS Board this year as a community representative.

With two school aged children myself, I know how important quality education is for our kids. I am an active member in our local school communities and value the opportunity to work with and support our leaders of tomorrow. I understand that our kids need to be equipped with the appropriate skills for the jobs of the future, and the importance of creating pathways through the education system resulting in meaningful employment opportunities.

Born and raised in the northern suburbs, I attained a Politics and Law Degree and worked in local MP’s electorate offices in Joondalup for almost a decade before entering the State Parliament myself.
